House of Fritz Hansen Bangkok
THE HOUSE OF FRITZ HANSEN, NO.14/1 SOI SOMKID
The house No.14/1 Soi Somkid is inherited from an old, noble family of Thailand. It was built around 1950s during which Modernist architecture began to gain momentum, hence the simplicity of lines and forms that gives the house not just a timeless appeal, but also functionality for even modern way of life.
Norse Republics, the exclusive distributor of Republic of Fritz Hansen in Thailand has earned the rights to renovate the house No.14/1 and transform it into a furniture store. Strictly adhering to our principle by not taking away the original beauty of the house in order to preserve the spirit and identity of the 1950s architecture — an era that coincides with the golden age of Republic of Fritz Hansen during which then it started to gain popularity by offering furniture with outstanding design, innovation and impeccable quality. Some of those original designs created during the 1950s have become one of the most iconic and classic furniture pieces in the world until the present day.
The concept of the House is to present the identity of Thai Modernist architecture, blended together with the refinement of Danish lifestyle by using the style icon of Fritz Hansen’s furniture to convey various distinctive stories through its own exquisite charms.
The official opening of the house will be welcome by the presence of Guest of Honor, H.E. Mr. Uffe Wolffhechel, Ambassador of Denmark to Thailand together with Dario Reicherl, CEO of Fritz Hansen Asia and Veekrit Palarit, Managing Director of Norse Republics.
